PT XL Axiata is scheduled to complete the construction of its new base transceiver stations (BTSs) and the installation of optic fibre cables by December 2013. The company is laying an additional 9,000 km of OFC to add to its existing 21,000 km of cables installed across the country. The objective of this project is to improve the quality and speed of wireless data transmissions. Samarinda in East Kalimantan, Banjarmasin in South Kalimantan, and Minahasa in North Sulawesi are the three places that will be connected through the new installations. The newly installed BTSs will add to the company’s existing 41,293 BTS base across the country.
