XL Axiata is planning to upgrade its 3G networks to 4G in 100 cities by end-2016. To this end, the operator has earmarked an investment of Rp 7 trillion for building new 4G infrastructure, including the deployment of new towers, upgradation of existing ones and improvement of IT systems. At present, the operator’s 4G services are operational in 58 cities.
