Germany-based WPD, a wind developer, has entered an agreement with Singapore-based Levanta Renewables Private Limited to co-develop the 103.5MW Kon Plong onshore wind farm in Vietnam. The wind project is also featured in Vietnam’s most recent power development plan (PDP7). The project will be located in the Kon Tum province, approximately 780 km south-east of Hanoi. Construction is expected to start in 2022. No specific date has been set for when the wind farm will be operational or which turbines will be deployed.
WPD operates in 28 countries and has completed wind energy projects with a total capacity of 5,150 MW and 2,400 wind turbines. There are 12,300 MW onshore, 13,800 MW offshore, and 1,650 MW solar energy projects in the pipeline.
