The World Bank and the Lao government have signed an agreement to finance $40 million for the small enterprise, mining, and hydropower sectors. Of the total amount, $17.8 million will be in the form of additional finance to support capacity building in hydropower and mining sector projects in the country. The Lao government has been working with the World Bank to implement hydropower and mining sector projects since 2010.
