The World Bank has approved two major projects aimed at improving transport infrastructure and healthcare services in the Philippines, primarily in the Mindanao region. The USD454.94 million Mindanao Transport Connectivity Improvement Project will upgrade a 428.2 km road corridor linking the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and General Santos, enhancing access to key ports and airports. The initiative is expected to boost regional connectivity and economic growth.

The second project, the USD495.6 million Philippines Health System Resilience Project, seeks to strengthen climate-resilient healthcare networks, governance, and workforce capacity at the provincial level. Targeting 17 provinces with low healthcare access, including 11 in Mindanao, the project will benefit around 17.9 million people, particularly those in remote and underserved areas.
