The World Bank has approved a USD60 million line of credit to finance the improvement of solid waste and plastic management in Cambodia. The project will also be co-financed by a USD3 million grant from the PROBLUE Trust Fund.

The program is a part of the government’s Municipal Solid Waste Management Policy 2020-2030. It aims to boost the ability of institutions to handle solid waste and plastic management at the national and sub-national levels as well as improve the performance of the private sector. The Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Environment, and Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), along with other sub-national administrations, will collaborate to execute the project.
