Works for setting up a new 2,000 MW coal-fired power plant in Central Java province have been speeded up. The plant is the largest of its kind being built in Southeast Asia. The project involves an investment of about $4 billion. The facility will deploy environment-friendly ultra-supercritical boilers to generate electricity. It is expected to be completed by 2016.
