Malaysia’s Ministry of Works/ Kementerian Kerja Raya (KKR) has announced the works on the Pan Borneo Highway project has been delayed due to manpower shortage. Completion has been further delayed due to the limited supply of construction materials. The project will not be completed by the original scheduled date of September 30, 2022 as mentioned in the work package contracts (WPC) for the Pan Borneo Highway project.

Contractors of the WPCs will focus on the main works which is the construction of the main road. Other secondary works for the highway project will be completed by December 2022. The WPC 06, which stretches 64 km from Jambatan Sungai Awik to the Bintangor junction, is currently 64 per cent. The project is around 23 per cent behind its target.
