WHA Utilities and Power (WHAUP), a subsidiary of WHA Corporation, has announced plans to invest THB2.3 billion in renewable energy (RE) projects to meet rising demand in Thailand and Vietnam. The company aims to increase its clean energy capacity to 1,000 MW through power purchase agreements with the government. Currently, WHAUP provides 427 MW of clean energy, with 283 MW coming from rooftop solar installations.
WHAUP is also exploring hydrogen, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and carbon capture technologies. Additionally, it is developing electric vehicle charging facilities and expanding water production and wastewater treatment in industrial estates, particularly in Vietnam.
