Wärtsilä Voyage and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the development of smart port innovation and digitalisation. Under the MoU, the companies will undertake, develop and promote innovative solutions that will boost digitalisation, support integration in e-navigation and make ship-to-shore data communications more reliable and secure.
The partnership also includes the development and field testing of smart vessel capabilities to boost onboard and onshore system interoperability. Wärtsilä Voyage and MPA will also evaluate data and cyber risks to onboard systems, ship-to-shore communications, and MPA’s just in time (JIT) operations.
