The Ministry of Information and Communications has directed Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications (VNPT) to submit its new restructuring plan. The new rules require that an institution/individual that owns more than 20 per cent in one company may not hold more than a 20 per cent share in another firm operating in the same market. VNPT that offers fixed line and broadband services owns 100 per cent stake in operators Vinaphone and MobiFone; therefore, it is required to submit a restructuring proposal.
