Vivant Energy Corp, a subsidiary of Vivant Corporation, has purchased a 40 per cent equity stake in Samal Solar Renewable Energy Corporation (SSREC), the operator of a 53.14 MWp solar park in Bataan province, Luzon. The deal, valued at approximately PHP395 million, marks a significant step in the company’s renewable energy expansion strategy.

The Samal solar photovoltaic facility, commissioned in August 2025, supplies power to Corenergy, Vivant Energy’s retail electricity arm. The project was originally developed by Tigon Power Corporation. Vivant noted that the acquisition aligns with the Department of Energy’s push for stronger public–private partnerships in advancing the energy transition, while also promoting local development and capacity building.

Vivant Energy aims to raise the share of renewables in its energy portfolio to 30 per cent by 2030. The company stated that the Bataan solar project will play an important role in meeting this target, while reinforcing its commitment to clean energy and long-term sustainability goals.
