Visa has launched a pilot program in Cebu, enabling commuters to use Visa cards for payments on modern jeepneys in Cebu and Mandaue City in the Philippines.
This project, launched in collaboration with Good Transport Solutions Incorporation (GTSI) and GHL Systems Philippines Incorporation, initially covers 100 jeepneys in Cebu City and 20 jeepneys in Mandaue City. The initiative aims to support the Philippines’ digital payments target and improve the travel experience for both locals and tourists.
Further, Visa plans to expand this service to 2,000 jeepneys in Cebu over the next two to three years, contributing to a more seamless and modern public transport system.
