Viettel, a telecommunications operator, and Samsung Electronics Company Limited (Samsung Electronics) have launched commercial trials for 5G services in Da Nang, located in Central Vietnam. Samsung’s 5G solutions will be used to support the trials’ commercial network, allowing consumers in Da Nang to fully experience the benefits of 5G services.
Samsung will provide its newest 4G and 5G technologies, including its baseband unit, 64T64R Massive MIMO radios, and mid-band spectrum radios. The 64T64R 5G Massive MIMO radio can power densely populated locations, increasing coverage and data bandwidth for better 5G end-user experiences.
Currently, Viettel is providing 5G coverage in 11 cities across Vietnam, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, Da Nang, Dong Nai, Ba Ria–Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, Bac Ninh and Thua Thien–Hue.
