The Government of Vietnam is advancing its digital transformation agenda with a new collaboration between Ericsson and the University of Transport and Communications (UTC). The partnership aims to equip students with knowledge and skills in 5G technology, with an emphasis on applications in the railway sector.

The agreement was formalized during the University–Industry Cooperation Forum in Da Nang, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in partnership with international stakeholders. The collaboration supports Vietnam’s broader objective of fostering a skilled workforce for its transition into a digital economy.

As part of the initiative, Ericsson will provide lectures, workshops, and technical support to integrate 5G use cases into UTC’s curriculum. The company also plans to assist the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Science and Technology with upskilling programs, ensuring alignment with the government’s nationwide 5G rollout.

This partnership strengthens Vietnam’s efforts to build a workforce capable of leveraging 5G across industries, supporting both digital infrastructure development and the country’s long-term modernisation goals.
