Trungnam Group, a Ho Chi Minh City-based energy company, has launched the country’s largest wind power plant in central Ninh Thuan Province. The facility covers 900 hectares in Thuan Bac District and has 45 turbines with a total capacity of 152 MW. The project has developed at a cost of VND4 trillion. The wind power plant is connected with a 204 MW solar power plant to create Southeast Asia’s largest solar-wind farm complex. The complex will provide the country’s grid with 950 million kWh per year.

This project will assist Vietnam’s aims to generate almost 11 per cent of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030, mostly through solar and wind power projects. Trungnam Group has added 1,064 MW of hydropower, solar and wind power to the national grid. By 2027, it aims to have a renewable energy output of nearly 10,000 MW.
