State-owned Electricity of Vietnam’s (EVN) subsidiary, National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), has recently put forward its intention to invest an amount of VND3.6 trillion into two 500 kV and seven 220 kV power grid projects in northern Haiphong City in the 2021-25 period.
In order to facilitate electricity supply into the city, as of now EVNNPT has completed three 220 kV power grid upgrade projects, with a total investment of VND260 billion.
In a separate development, Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC)—another subsidiary of EVN, has also completed 25×110 kV projects worth VND1.6 trillion in Haiphong, and further plans on implementing 16 more projects in the coming five-year period. Efforts are being made by the utility to improve its transmission network and the power supply in the city.
