The National Power Transmission Corporation (NPT), a transmission subsidiary of EVN, has awarded three contracts worth $47.84 million for the supply of high voltage equipment. A consortium of LS Vina Cable & System and Thinh Phat Company Limited has bagged a $20.5 million contract to supply and deliver conductors and groundwires. Wuxi Jiangnan Cable Company Limited won the $16.06 million contract to provide conductors and groundwires for the 500 kV Pleiku–My Phuoc–Cau Bong transmission line. Finally, the JV of Power Construction Joint Stock Company No. 1 and the Thanh Long Joint Stock Company was awarded the third contract to supply and deliver steel towers for the 500 kV Pho Noi substation and the 500/220 kV Bac Ninh 2–Pho Noi transmission line. The contracts have been awarded under the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded Power Transmission Investment Program that is being implemented to enhance the capacity of the country’s transmission network. The programme entails the construction of around 648 km of 500 kV lines and over 100 km of 220 kV lines to balance power loads in northern, central, and southern Vietnam.
