State-owned Electricity of Vietnam’s (EVN) transmission subsidiary National Power Transmission Corporation (EVN NPT) has proposed the construction of 63 transmission network projects with a total investment of $914,099. Of the 63 projects, the company will implement 13 projects with a voltage level of 500 kV such as the Long Phu-ômôn (South) power line, Lai Châu transformer station (North) and the second phase of the 500/200 kV Hiêp Hoà-Dông Anh-Bac Ninh 2 line among others. The utility is also expected to take up 50 other 220 kV projects such as the Long Phu-Soc Trang line, Long Phu-Cân Tho-Trà Noc line, Binh Long-Tây Ninh line, the installation of electrical compensators for 220 kV transformer stations in the north and south, and 220 kV transformers in the Phu Tho, Quang Châu, Nông Công, Dak Nông, Phu My, and Cân Tho substations. In addition, EVN NPT also plans to complete procedures for the construction of 42 grid projects during 2017, including lines to increase electricity transmission capacity for the south and Hanoi, and to prevent network overloads in the north, centre and south.
