The Vietnam government has scrapped two proposed hydropower projects on the Dong Nai river based on the environmental report on the Dong Nai 6 and Dong Nai 6A dams. The report noted that the dams would adversely impact over 327 hectares of forest land, of which 128 hectares falls in the Cat Tien National Park. The two projects, which would have been developed by the Duc Long Gia Lai Group, failed to complete an environment assessment through relevant agencies.
