Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction has confirmed that 232 construction projects, with a combined investment exceeding VND1.1 quadrillion (USD42 billion), are ready for groundbreaking or inauguration on December 19. The event will be held as part of preparations for the 14th National Party Congress.
Of the total, 149 projects will hold groundbreaking ceremonies, while 83 are scheduled for inauguration. The Ministry has proposed 79 sites for live national broadcasts, aligned with the 79th anniversary of National Resistance Day. Thirty-four of these locations will be attended by central-level leaders and representatives from ministries and agencies.
The Ministry of Construction is coordinating with Vietnam Television, VNPT and other ministries to finalise ceremony planning, documentation and project selection. The Deputy Prime Minister has directed agencies to highlight achievements in infrastructure, socio-economic development, education, healthcare, and national security over the past five-year period, while identifying key lessons for the next development cycle.
The selected projects must demonstrate national significance and socio-economic value. The broadcast programme will showcase exemplary infrastructure schemes across provinces, emphasising their contribution to national development.
