The Northern Vietnam Power Project Management Board (NPPMB), a unit of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Group, has issued international competitive tenders for the supply of high voltage equipment and materials for 500 kV and 220 kV projects. The first tender is for the supply of equipment for the 500 kV Pho Noi substation and the 500/220 kV Bac Ninh 2–Pho Noi transmission line. The contract is part of the ADB-funded Power Transmission Investment Program. The NPPMB has also issued three tenders under the Northern Power Transmission Line Project Extension Sector. These tenders involve supply of equipment for the 220 kV Thuong Tin–Kim Dong line; the branch connection of the 220 kV Hai Duong 2 substation; the 220 kV Kim Dong substation; and the primary equipment for the extension of the 220 kV bay in the 500 kV Thuong Tin substation for the connection of the 220 kV Thuong Tin–Kim Dong line. The submission deadline for bids closed on November 28, 2012.
