The Government of Vietnam has officially launched NDAChain, a national blockchain platform developed by the National Data Association and operated by the Ministry of Public Security’s Data Innovation and Exploitation Centre. Positioned as a foundational layer for data verification across government and private systems, NDAChain aims to address issues of data security, scalability, and interoperability. Integrated with Vietnam’s National Data Centre, the permissioned Layer 1 blockchain will be expanded to local governments and universities by 2026. It supports sectors such as e-government, finance, healthcare, and logistics, with features including smart contracts, identity verification, and a Proof-of-Authority consensus protocol enhanced by Zero-Knowledge Proofs.

The platform’s validator network includes 49 nodes operated by public agencies and major enterprises like SunGroup, Zalo, and MISA. NDAChain powers key applications such as NDA DID (decentralised identity) and NDATrace (product authentication and traceability), helping users verify identities and supply chains in real time. Compliant with global standards like W3C DID and GS1, NDAChain supports integration with international systems such as the EU’s EBSI. Positioned as both an infrastructure and innovation platform, it is expected to catalyse Vietnam’s digital transformation and create opportunities for tech startups and private sector developers.
