The Vietnam government has approved the restructuring of Vietnam Airlines by 2015. According to the plan, the government will reduce its stake in the airline from 70–80 per cent to 65 – 70 per cent, once the company is listed on the stock exchange, which is scheduled for the current year. After the restructuring, Vietnam Airlines will comprise four airlines: the mother corporation; Vietnam Air Services Company; Jetstar Pacific (a low-cost airline), and Cambodia Angkor Air. It will also consist of 26 independently audited companies. By late 2015, Vietnam Airlines is expected to divest its capital completely from non-core businesses in a bid to improve its business performance.
