The Governments of Vietnam and South Korea have agreed to expand bilateral cooperation in urban development, infrastructure, and aviation. The discussions focused on reinforcing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and highlighted successful projects such as South Korea’s ODA-funded Green City Planning Project and the Vietnam–Korea Cooperation Centre (VKC) for smart city and construction technology.
The VKC initiative contributes to capacity building, pilot smart city models, and training programs in Vietnam. South Korea is piloting AI-based smart city technologies and is offering to share expertise with Vietnam. Key collaboration projects include the development of a new urban area in Bac Ninh Province, clean industrial parks in Hung Yen Province, and support for national infrastructure projects such as the North–South high-speed railway and Gia Binh International Airport.
