Electricite du Laos (EDL) is upgrading the electricity network of four major districts of Vientiane – Sisattanak, Chanthabouly, Sikhottabong, and Xaysettha. The work, part of the distribution automation system project, involves the installation of 29 load break switches, eight feeders, and eight reclosers. The project that is estimated to cost 7.7 billion kip is being funded by the Republic of Korea. It is likely to be completed by end-April 2013.
