The Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) has announced plans to deploy automatic non-stop toll collection (ETC) systems on five expressways under its management. The ETC systems will be installed on Noi Bai – Lao Cai, HCM City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay, Ben Luc – Long Thanh, Da Nang – Quang Ngai expressways and some other sections of Cau Gie -Ninh Binh by September 2022.
VEC has also approved and issued bidding documents for selecting ETC service providers for the upcoming systems from May 2022. Bids will be closed on May 25, 2022 and contractors will be selected on June 30, 2022.
The agency has previously installed a similar system on 15 lanes of the Cau Gie – Ninh Binh Expressway in June 2020. The system is currently operational, with the service rate accounting for 51 per cent of the line’s revenue.
