United Overseas Bank (UOB) has led a consortium of five banks to arrange a THB28 billion green term loan for DayOne Data Centres to support the development of one of Thailand’s largest data centre projects. The financing will fund the initial phase of a greenfield facility at Chonburi Tech Park in Amata Industrial Park, with operations expected to begin in 2026.
UOB acted as deal coordinator, structuring bank, mandated lead arranger and account bank for the transaction. The financing consortium also includes CIMB, HSBC, ICBC, Kasikornbank (KBANK) and OCBC. The project represents DayOne’s first data centre development in Thailand and forms part of the company’s broader regional expansion strategy.
The investment is expected to support Thailand’s ambition to become a regional hub for cloud computing, artificial intelligence and digital services. The data centre will be designed to meet growing demand for data processing and cloud infrastructure across Southeast Asia while incorporating energy-efficient technologies aligned with green financing principles.
The transaction marks one of the largest green loans arranged for digital infrastructure in Thailand and reflects increasing investment in sustainable data centre development as regional demand for digital services continues to expand.
