Two additional renewable energy (RE) companies have been added to the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Green Energy Option Program (GEOP) list. These two companies are Shell Energy Philippines Incorporated and Green Core Geothermal Incorporated.

After the new addition, the GEOP list features a total of 12 RE firms. The others are Aboitiz Energy Solutions Incorporated, SN Aboitiz Power-Magat Incorporated, Sparc-Solar Powered Agri-Rural Communities Corporation, Prism Energy Incorporated, First Gen Energy Solutions Incorporated, Citicore Energy Solutions Incorporated, SN Aboitiz Power-Res Incorporated, AC Energy Philippines Incorporated, Adventenergy Incorporated and Bacman Geothermal.

The GEOP is a voluntary regulatory mechanism that allows households and users who consume at least 100 KW of electricity to get their electricity from energy suppliers who generate electricity from renewable sources.
