The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has commenced trial runs on the Pink Line in Bangkok. Moreover, the Northern Bangkok Monorail Company Limited (NBM), the concessionaire, is set to carry out free passenger trials from September 2023 till October 2023. The monorail line is set to officially launch in November 2023.
The 34.5-km-long straddle monorail line will span from the Nonthaburi Civic Centre Station till Min Buri Station and feature 30 stations. Connections will be available to the Purple Line as well as the future Orange Line.
Meanwhile, to handle the increase in ridership, State Railway of Thailand (SRT) will reduce headway on the Red Line to every 10 minutes during peak hour and every 15 minutes during off-times.
