China Railway Sixth Group Company Limited has commenced trial runs on Line 2A of the Hanoi Metro in Vietnam. The line spans 13 km from Cat Linh in Dong Da district to Yen Nghia in Ha Dong district, covering 12 stations. The trials will be conducted for a period of three to six months. Passenger services are scheduled to commence in early February 2019. The China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation Limited (CRRC) has supplied four-car trains, which have an operating speed of 35 km/hr and a maximum speed of 80 km/hr. The Government of China and Vietnam Railways have funded the line. Vietnam Tokyo Metro, a subsidiary of Tokyo Metro, is the operator.
