TransJakarta, a bus rapid transit (BRT) system, has deployed 30 electric buses in Jakarta, Indonesia. The 12 metre e-buses were supplied by BYD Auto Company Limited (BYD) and imported by Vektr Mobiliti Indonesia (VKTR). The vehicles are type K-9 low-deck BYD buses and have a maximum passenger capacity of 60.

This procurement is a part of Transjakarta’s plans to deploy 10,000 electric buses by 2030. This is also in line with the Government of Jakarta’s goal to transition at least 50 per cent of Transjakarta’s fleet to electric by 2025 and 100 per cent of the fleet by 2030.
