Sunway Group and the Railway Assets Corporation (RAC) have signed an agreement to jointly develop a 20.8-acre mixed-use project, Seremban Sentral, in Negeri Sembilan’s capital in Malaysia. The RM2 billion development will be anchored beside the existing Seremban Railway Station and linked to the new station being constructed under the Klang Valley Double Track 2 (KVDT2) project, due for completion by December 2028. Sunway was selected as lead developer through a competitive proposal process.
Seremban Sentral will feature residential units, healthcare, retail, education, community spaces, and green areas—all designed to promote walkability and public transport use. A heritage component, the Seremban Yard initiative, will repurpose historic railway warehouses into creative spaces for SMEs, artisans, and tourism activities, integrating preservation with economic development. The project is expected to be completed over 14 years, with the first phase—comprising a medical centre and the Yard—set to launch within six months.
Officials estimate the development will generate 1,500 jobs across construction, healthcare, education, tourism, and retail sectors. Public transport usage is projected to rise by 30 percent by 2030, supporting Malaysia’s sustainability goals.
