Total Solar Distributed Generation (DG) has entered into a binding, long-term power agreement with Thailand-based S. Kijchai Enterprise Public Company Limited to provide solar PV system with a capacity of 7 MW. As per the deal, Total Solar DG will provide a solar-powered rooftop in Rayong, Thailand, which will be one of the largest single-rooftop solar projects in the country. The project aims to drive down power costs by over 25 per cent, allowing customers to save over $16 million across the lifetime of the system. Besides, it will also help reduce the carbon footprint in a sustainable way. The solar PV system is expected to combine over 17,500 solar panels, by covering an area of more than 38,000 square metres. The solar project is expected to generate 9.6 GWh of clean energy and can save up to 6,600 tonnes of carbon dioxide every year, which is equivalent to planting 5,50,000 new trees per year.
