Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has signed three agreements worth RM 2.47 billion for its 1,071 MW combined cycle gas turbine power plant located in Seberang Prai, Penang. TNB has entered into a 20-year service agreement with Siemens Malaysia worth RM 631 million. Siemens will install its two SGT5-8000H gas turbines at the plant. The second deal is an EPC contract signed between TNB Northern Energy and Samsung Engineering and Construction Malaysia Sendirian Berhad for three years. This deal is worth RM 1.85 billion and includes a structured technology transfer package. The third agreement is with TNB’s repair and maintenance arm, TNB Remaco, for the operation and maintenance of the plant. The power plant is due to be completed by 2015.
