Telekom Malaysia’s submarine cable system, Cahaya Malaysia, has become fully operational. While the cable connectivity to Japan and Hong Kong went live in August 2012, the last leg of the submarine cable system was completed in March 2013. The Cahaya Malaysia cable that has an initial design capacity of up to 10 Tbps will be able to support 100 Gbps technology in the future. Cahaya Malaysia is part of the Asia Submarine-cable Express system.
