The Government of Malaysia has approved three new highway projects in the Klang Valley with the aim of alleviating traffic congestion in the area. The projects approved include the the Bangi-Putrajaya Expressway (BPE), Petaling Jaya traffic dispersal elevated highway (PJD Link) and the Kuala Lumpur northern dispersal expressway (KL NODE).

The three highway projects were among several proposals made by the private sector, while proposals for additional highway projects are still under consideration. Any new project will be required to follow a development plan, based on a five-year study.
