The third phase of the solar farm projects of Bangchak Petroleum Plc, costing 4.5 billion baht, will be operational by mid-2014. Located in Buri Ram, Prachin Buri, Chaiyaphum, and Nakhon Ratchasima, the solar farms are expected to generate 48 MW of electricity. Construction work will begin in October 2013. The construction contracts for the Buri Ram and Prachin Buri solar farms have been awarded to a JV of Solarton and China Triumph International Engineering, while the Gunkul Engineering Plc–Trina Solar Energy Developer Private Limited JV has garnered the contracts for the Chaiyaphum and Nakhon Ratchasima solar farms. The electricity will be sold to the Provincial Electricity Authority.
