The third component of NLEX Metro Link project gets a green signal

The Metro Pacific Tollways Development Corporation and the Philippine National Construction Corporation (PNCC) have given approval to the Manila North Tollways Corporation to implement segment 10.2 – the third component of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Metro Link project. The NLEX has three segments:

• the 2.4 km long Segment 9 that runs from NLEX Main in Valenzuela City to MacArthur Highway (construction to be completed by mid-2014);
• the 5.65 km long Segment 10 that connects MacArthur Highway to port area (construction to begin in the second quarter of 2014 and to be completed in 2015); and
• the 8 km long Segment 10.2 that stretches from C3 in Caloocan City to PUP Sta. Mesa.

The final segment will be elevated. Construction will begin in the third quarter of 2014, with a targeted completion date of 2016.
