The Industry and Trade Ministry of Vietnam has announced a new electricity supply plan for 2024, aiming to increase the electricity supply by 4.4 kWh to a total of 310.6 billion kWh. This move is in line with the rapid economic recovery in the country, leading to higher electricity demand. 

Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has recorded a commercial electricity output of 62.66 billion kWh in Q1 2024, reflecting an 11.42 per cent increase compared to Q1 2023. The plan includes preparations from April to July 2024, with a total of 111.468 billion kWh needed, indicating an increase of 2.3 billion kWh compared to the previous plan. 

Then, provinces and cities with higher electricity demand for industrial production and services are identified, with corresponding increases in supply.
