The Government of the Philippines and France have formalised a series of agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in transport infrastructure and intellectual property (IP).
Key agreements include maintenance contracts with French shipbuilder OCEA for Philippine Coast Guard vessels and a memorandum with Hydrogène de France to support maritime decarbonization. Cebu Pacific and Air France Industries also signed a component support agreement for A320/A321 aircraft, extending existing ties. Meanwhile, Ascendance and PhilJets signed a letter of intent to explore hybrid helicopter solutions.
On IP, the French Development Agency will support a project with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines and CIRAD to develop geographical indications (GIs). Saint-Martin emphasised the potential for deeper trade and investment, voicing optimism for a future EU-Philippines free trade agreement and French participation in the Luzon economic corridor.
