The Government of Indonesia has secured a USD202 million public-private partnership (PPP) to develop a 50 km section of the Trans Papua Toll Road which is a part of the Mamberamo–Elelim stretch. This project awarded by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, aims to enhance transportation infrastructure in the regions of Papua and Papua Pegunungan.
The PPP arrangement includes not only the construction of the toll road segment but also its operation and maintenance for 13 years. Additional components of the project involve the maintenance of slopes and cuttings, bridge construction, and the installation of vehicle weighing systems. The project is backed by Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (PII), ensuring financial guarantees for the initiative.
