Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad has stated that the construction cost of both the Ampang and Kelana Jaya light rail transit line extension project would not exceed the RM 8 billion budget, even though the project will be delayed by a year. The extension of the lines was originally scheduled to be completed in 2014, but progress has been slow due to issues related to land acquisition in Puchong; the relocation works for Telekom Malaysia, Tenaga Nasional, and Syabas; and delays in the awarding of contracts to some companies. The extension would result in an addition of 13 and 11 stations in the KelanaN Jaya-line and the Ampang Line respectively.
