Thales Group has secured a contract from Prasarana Malaysia Bhd to deliver an integrated control centre (ICC) for its rail networks in Malaysia. The technology will be deployed on the Sri Petaling lines, Kelana Jaya, Ampang and KL Monorail. The ICC will cover around 100 trains and 100 km of track.

The new ICC will be built at Taman Ikan Emas, and work is scheduled to be completed in April 2023.

Thales will integrate the lines’ signalling supervision and control systems as well as Network Management and backup systems, with the Kuala Lumpur ICC. Once completed, Prasarana will be able to manage all of its existing rail lines from a single ICC.

The company will also integrate network management and backup solutions to ensure continuous end-to-end management of the signalling assets across multiple locations. Additionally, three operational ICCs will also be modified to serve as backup centres as part of the project.
