Thales has secured a long-term services support (LTSS) contract from SMRT Trains, with support from Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA), to strengthen reliability and availability of its SelTrac communication-based train control (CBTC) signalling system on the North–South and East–West lines. Thales’ SelTrac communications-based train control (CBTC) signalling system was deployed on both the lines in 2017.
Under the contract, Thales will provide ongoing repair service, spares and technical support for the existing signalling system on the lines until 2033. Thales will also provide both software and hardware obsolescence management and implement cybersecurity enhancements to the existing signalling system.
