EGAT is planning to develop a 5 mtpa floating storage regasification unit (FSRU). The move comes as part of the government’s bid to liberalise LNG imports and create competition in the LNG sector. EGAT expects to receive the approval for the FSRU from the National Energy Policy Committee by November 2016.
