Thailand’s airports experienced combined passenger traffic of 7.68 million in August 2013, 18.1 per cent higher than the 2012 figure. Of the total traffic, about 80 per cent comprised domestic passengers. Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport handled 3.69 million passengers in August 2013, an increase of 4.9 per cent over the corresponding period in 2012. Meanwhile, the total number of passengers for the January–August 2013 period, including domestic traffic, stood at 58.5 million, rising by 17.7 per cent compared to the same period in 2012.
