Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) has received the Most Improved CSR award for exhibiting outstanding corporate social responsibility in Thailand. Organised by the Corporate Social Responsibility Institute (CSRI) under the aegis of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), the CSR Recognition awards honour Thailand-listed companies that are committed towards running their businesses sustainably for the benefit of society and shareholders. THAI shared the award with five other listed companies across various sectors in the country. The winners inspire other listed companies to improve organisational development and garner investor and public interest.
THAI is the national carrier of the country. From January to September 2012, the company carried 15.12 million passengers. Its revenue for the aforementioned period amounted to 155.44 billion baht (1 baht = USD 0.03), while its net profit was 3.9 billion baht.
PT Garuda Indonesia, the national airline of the country, has won the Indonesian Customer Satisfaction Award (ICSA) 2012, marking the 13th time that the company has earned the title. ICSA 2012 was organised by Indonesia’s SWA magazine, in collaboration with Frontier magazine. ICSA’s assessment criteria take into consideration the results of survey findings from over 7,500 respondents.
