Tengku Muhammad Taufik Tengku Aziz has been appointed as the new president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas), the Malaysian oil and gas company, with effect from July 1, 2020. Taufik has succeeded Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin who retired as the company CEO on June 30, 2020. Prior to this, Taufik served as executive vice president and group chief financial officer (CFO) of Petronas. He has accumulated 20 years’ of experience in financial reporting, feasibility reviews, project analysis, capital project restructuring and risk management, with primary focus on the oil and gas industry. He has also had significant exposure to strategic planning and investment valuation exercises.
