The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (Kementerian ESDM) has launched an auction process for the 46 MW Nage Geothermal Working Area (GWA) on Flores Island, Indonesia.  Interested parties are required to submit their registration forms along with the necessary documents by May 31, 2024.

The Nage GWA is estimated to possess a geothermal reserve of 46 MWe, with a development target of achieving a capacity of 40 MW through the total project scheme.

The Government of Indonesia has led many extensive exploration efforts into the Nage GWA, including geoscience surveys and the drilling of two slim-hole wells. These explorations have revealed promising indicators, with the reservoir showing temperatures reaching up to 284°C. Covering an area of 10,410 hectares, the land use within the GWA includes Production Forest, Convertible Production Forest, and Other Utilization Areas, ensuring sustainable development practices.
